I prefer Foxit Reader to Adobe Reader as it is less of a bloated program than Adobe Reader and doesn't stick start up programs into your computer that meant every time you started your PC Adobe Reader was being loaded in the background. This always seems pointless to me, as often I could go through a day or even a week without opening one PDF file, so why would I want Adobe Reader starting up every day and wasting some of my computer's system resources.
So when you have Foxit installed if for soem reason it doesn't aitomatically make itself the default application for opening PDFs, this is how you do it.
- Open File Explorer (the yellow folder icon that's normally near to your Start Menu).
- Locate an existing PDF file that you have in your documents or downloads folder.
- Right click on it and on the pop-up menu that appears, select "Open with" >> "Choose another app":
- This dialog will appear:
- When you click "OK" then from then on PDFs will open with Foxit not Adobe Reader.
This completes this how to.
